Domain Validated certificates provide only limited security for users, as they solely confirm the ownership of the domain. Unlike other certificate types, no information about the website operator is included in the certificate.
Issuance Time: Approximately 1–2 days
Verification Criteria:
The Certificate Authority (CA) verifies whether the applicant is the legitimate owner of the domain.
Validation Steps During the Order Process:
Verification is typically done via a confirmation email sent to a designated email address provided by the applicant. This email contains a link that must be clicked to confirm the order. Alternatively, validation can be completed through DNS authentication or file-based authentication (File-Auth). Once the confirmation is successful, the certificate is issued within minutes.
Since no further verification of the applicant is performed, the certificate only displays the Common Name (the domain) and does not contain any additional details about the website owner.
